Paired Trees
These are owned and displayed at the Regions Bank in Downtown Greenville, South Carolina and are used as a foil to two large intruding steel beams in the main lobby of the bank. The architectural team asked for all applicants to use the Palmetto Tree theme and awarded and approved the design from submitted drawings for this traditional South Carolina form. The 7 x 7 x 15 foot trees are constructed of walnut, mahogany, aluminum, brass, and copper with accented enamel painted parts. One is male the other plant sporting “fruiting bodies” is a female design and thus are paired in this setting.
